February's heart-shaped and red theme continues as we observe National Strawberry Day on February 27th. These juicy, sweet berries can brighten up any dish and are delicious all on their own. Today, we raise a smoothie to the great strawberry on its special day:
Ruby-Red Strawberry Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 Ruby Red grapefruit
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup protein powder
1/2 teaspoon flaxseed
Instructions:
In a blender, add milk, yogurt, and flaxseed. Blend until smooth. Add grapefruit wedges, frozen strawberries, and protein powder. Blend until all ingredients are combined and smooth.
