An Extra Hour. What Will You Do with Yours?

By - Ted Escobedo 1 hour ago   1 min read

This Sunday, November 1, we'll turn our clocks back one hour and return to Standard Time. For many people, that means an extra hour of sleep. Others may enjoy an additional hour to relax, read or spend time with family. Of course, we aren't adding time to our lives. We're simply adjusting the clocks. But perhaps the change offers something more valuable: an opportunity to think about how we spend our time.

The truth is that many of us spend so much time meeting our daily obligations that we forget to make time for ourselves.
This weekend, consider giving yourself a little time for something that matters.
• Reconnect with someone. Call a friend you haven't spoken with in a while or share a relaxed breakfast with someone you love.
• Do something for your health. Take a morning walk, prepare a nutritious meal or finally make that appointment you've been postponing.
• Enjoy something just for you. Pick up a book, listen to your favorite music or return to a hobby you've neglected.
• Give yourself permission to rest. Sometimes, doing absolutely nothing is exactly what we need.
• Start one small habit. Choose something manageable that you can continue long after the clocks have changed.
