No single food has been proven to prevent ovarian cancer. But eating a healthy, plant-forward diet can help you maintain a healthy weight and provide nutrients your body needs to stay healthy.
1. COLORFUL VEGETABLES AND FRUITS.
Fill your plate with a variety of vegetables and fruits—especially leafy greens, broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables, berries, citrus, tomatoes and other colorful produce. Different colors generally mean different combinations of nutrients and beneficial plant compounds.
2. BEANS AND WHOLE GRAINS.
Beans, lentils, oats, brown rice and other whole grains provide fiber and can help you feel satisfied longer. They’re also great substitutes for some higher-calorie or highly processed foods.
3. HEALTHY PROTEINS.
Choose fish, beans, lentils and poultry more often, while limiting red and processed meats. Pair them with plenty of plant foods rather than making meat the center of every meal.
