By - Ted Escobedo 8 months ago

A recently published research report touted the benefits of consuming dark chocolate daily to help prevent Type 2 Diabetes. The article stipulates that it must be dark chocolate with no milk content and ideally no added sugar. For chocolate lovers, this report came as an early holiday gift. Here’s a wonderfully simple dark chocolate recipe that makes for great snacks, the perfect party tray or a homemade gift. All 3 ingredients are superfoods so not only is this chocolate yummy, but it’s also good for you,
Dark Chocolate Bars
Ingredients (yields 24 servings)
1 cup coconut oil, melted
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup maple syrup
Directions
Mix coconut oil, cocoa powder, and maple syrup together in a bowl until evenly combined.
Because coconut oil has a low melting point (76 degrees F/24 degrees C), this will harden a lot in the fridge. Serving ideas: dip fruits in it, chill and roll into truffles, press into mold and chill, or make hot chocolate.
