While no single food can guarantee cancer prevention, a diet rich in plant-based foods containing various vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants may help lower your risk and support overall health during treatment. The best approach is to focus on an overall healthy eating pattern rather than any one "magic" food.
The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and other health organizations recommend filling at least two-thirds of your plate with plant-based foods.
•  Fruits and Vegetables Aim for a variety of colors (red, dark green, orange, purple) to get a wide range of nutrients and antioxidants.
• Berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries) Contain potent antioxidants like anthocyanins and ellagic acid that may slow cancer cell growth and protect cells from damage.
• Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, bok choy) Contain compounds like glucosinolates, which may help the body defend against cancers of the colon, breast, and lung.
• Dark green leafy vegetables (spinach, kale, Swiss chard) Rich in fiber, folate, and carotenoids, which may help protect against cancers of the mouth, larynx, pancreas, and skin.
•  Tomatoes A good source of lycopene, an antioxidant that has been linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer.
•  Garlic Contains sulfur compounds that may enhance immune function and inhibit cancer progression.
 •  Legumes (beans, lentils, chickpeas) Excellent sources of fiber, protein, and phytochemicals that can help maintain a healthy weight and lower colorectal cancer risk.
• Healthy Fats and Proteins Oily fish (salmon, tuna, anchovies) High in omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties.
• Nuts and Seeds (walnuts, almonds, flaxseeds) Provide healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress.
• Lean protein sources Lean chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, and beans are recommended as part of a balanced diet.
