Is your depression linked to vitamin deficiency?

By - Ted Escobedo 4 hours ago   1 min read

People who are clinically depressed or are experiencing severe anxiety should seek medical attention. If you are suffering from mild forms of depression or simply feeling a little down, boosting your vitamin levels may help boost your mood as well.

Signs that depression may be linked to a vitamin deficiency include fatigue, mood changes like sadness and irritability, trouble sleeping, and cognitive issues such as forgetfulness or brain fog. Other symptoms can include physical discomfort like bone or muscle pain, and potential hair loss or changes in appetite. Deficiencies in vitamins D, B12, folate, and iron can be particularly associated with these symptoms.
•   Fatigue and tiredness: Persistent and unusual tiredness can be a sign of vitamin D deficiency, which may overlap with depressive fatigue.
• Mood changes: Feelings of hopelessness, sadness, or irritability can be associated with low levels of vitamins like D, B12, or iron.
