Don't be embarrassed to talk about bleeding. Some women may feel embarrassed or uncomfortable talking about unexpected vaginal bleeding, but it’s an important change to discuss openly with your healthcare provider.
1. KNOW WHAT'S NORMAL FOR YOU.
Pay attention to changes in your menstrual cycle and bleeding patterns. Knowing your normal makes it easier to recognize when something isn't.
2. SPEAK UP ABOUT UNUSUAL BLEEDING.
Bleeding or spotting after menopause isn't something to be embarrassed about or simply live with. Neither is bleeding that's unusual for you before menopause. Tell your healthcare provider.
3. DON'T LET EMBARRASSMENT DELAY THE CONVERSATION.
Periods, menopause and vaginal bleeding are routine medical subjects. Your healthcare provider has these conversations every day. If something concerns you, say it. Your body doesn't need to be a comfortable conversation. It just needs you to speak up.
