National Cinnamon Bun Day is October 4. Served with coffee or tea and enjoyed with a good book, a friend, or an early morning treat, the cinnamon bun does offer some health benefits. Since cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, it protects cells from the free radicals that may play a role in heart disease and cancer. It also helps reduce inflammation. Cinnamon may lessen or help fight infections, too. Another benefit includes reducing the risk of heart disease by lowering blood pressure, bad cholesterol, and triglycerides. So, pick up or bake a batch of cinnamon buns and share them with a loved one. October 4 also happens to be National Smile Day as well and you can observe both with one bun!
