Make protecting your skin a priority when exercising outdoors

Exercising and working up a sweat during the warmer months can be great for your health but it also puts you at risk for skin damage. Experts recommend a broad-spectrum, sweat-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30, specifically for outdoor exercise.
Sweat-resistant/Water-resistant sunscreen is designed to stay on during activity and sweating. Make sure your sunscreen is "water-resistant" with durations no less than 40 minutes and an SPF 30 or higher.
During exercise, sunscreen should be reapplied at least every two hours, and more frequently if sweating heavily or swimming. Even if the sunscreen is water-resistant, it can wear off due to friction, sweat, or water exposure, reducing its effectiveness.
