Recent studies suggest that increasing your intake of foods with Vitamin A can help keep your skin healthy and may even help avoid severe sun burn.
Vitamin A1, also known as retinol, can be found in animal-sourced foods, such as oily fish, liver, cheese, and butter.
Your body can also produce vitamin A from carotenoids found in plants. These carotenoids include beta-carotene and alpha carotene, collectively known as provitamin A. Some vegetables that are rich in these nutrients are: sweet potato, butternut squash, carrots, red peppers and spinach. Fruits containing vitamin A are cantaloupe, mangos, grapefruit, watermelon and papayas.
