World Sleep Day 2026 is on Friday, March 13, 2026. The 2026 theme is, “Sleep Well, Live Better.”
World Sleep Day is an opportunity to promote sleep health alongside thousands of other sleep health professionals and advocates. Getting good, consistent sleep (7–9 hours) significantly helps manage cholesterol levels while poor sleep—too little or too much—disrupts metabolism and hormones, leading to higher LDL ("bad") cholesterol, increased triglycerides, and lower HDL ("good") cholesterol. Chronic sleep deprivation increases stress hormones like cortisol, which elevates LDL production in the liver.
