Tis the season for a Pumpkin Smoothie!

It is the time of year when national chains roll out everything pumpkin and people come running. It’s no wonder why pumpkin flavor is so popular. The very thought of it makes you feel warm and cozy inside. But pumpkin has so much more to offer. Nutritionists tell us that natural pumpkin is a wonderful source of vitamin A and beta-carotene, making it a tasty and healthy addition to your diet. So, this year, ditch the lattes and high-calorie drinks and make your own pumpkin smoothie.

Makes 6 Servings

  • Ingredients:
  • pumpkin purée (1 15-ounce can)

    plant milk of your choice, or to taste (2 cups)

    ice (2 cups)

    maple syrup, or to taste (2 tablespoons)

    vanilla extract, or to taste (1 tablespoon)

    pumpkin pie spice, or use a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice (1 tablespoon or to taste)


  • DirectionsCombine all ingredients in blender. Blend for 1 to 2 minutes until everything is incorporated.
