This is the best time of year to get some sun in El Paso. With the milder temperatures and brighter mornings (after we switch to standard mountain time) there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sun in the Sun City. Sunlight is essential for human health and well-being. The health benefits of sunlight include generating the production of vitamin D, supporting bone health, lowering blood pressure, preventing disease, and promoting good mental health. In fact, doctors often recommend getting regulated ‘doses’ of sunlight to help ease depression or encourage physical healing.
One note of caution: While the sun can be healing, it can also cause damage. Be careful about how much sun you take in. While your tolerance from sun may vary based on skin type and other factors, sunscreen is always recommended to help prevent overexposure to UV rays.
