Take a walk before dinner

Take a walk before dinner

Now that the afternoons seem longer and evenings brighter, try taking a walk before dinner. The early spring weather in El Paso is perfect for a brisk stroll. The benefits are two-fold. You can work off some of the stress of the day and you can burn more calories. Research suggests going for a walk before you eat may help you burn more fat. Taking a walk before a meal promotes healthy metabolic activity. In fact, walking before a meal enacts different chemical reactions than walking after the body has begun digesting the food. According to a 2006 study published in Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, people who walked prior to eating and walked hard enough to perspire burned more fat than those who walked after eating.
