This new year consider setting intentions as well as resolutions. An intention can offer you a fresh outlook on how you view long-term, positive changes, which can impact your mental health in a positive manner. Ask yourself, “how would I like to feel next year.” For example, it may be an intention to feel calmer. By setting this intention, you are starting on a journey to take steps to achieve that desired state. By making small efforts to reach your intention through meditation, mindfulness or yoga, you will begin your journey towards a calmer you in 2023.
