Parking lots are crowded during the holiday season, and you could turn that into an opportunity to burn some calories. If you're headed to the mall to do some holiday shopping, avoid those fiercely fought over prime parking spots and park far away from the entrance. If you park five minutes away from the mall and walk at a brisk pace, you could burn calories without even trying. Those calories can add up after multiple mall visits to find perfect gifts for friends and family.
Another way to get your steps in is to window shop. Before you head directly to your usual stores, take a quickly paced, full lap around the mall. You'll get in some extra exercise and window shop while you're at it. You might even spot an alternative to that gift you usually purchase.
