Foods that cleanse the blood

Foods that cleanse the blood

Cruciferous vegetables offer a special benefit. Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, mustard and turnip greens all fall in the cruciferous category because of their ‘cross shaped’ flowers. And, they all cause your liver to produce ‘phase 2 enzymes’ that capture carcinogens and remove them from the bloodstream. They also get to work rather quickly because they take effect within forty-eight hours.

If you are not a fan of some of these vegetables, a quick spritz with lemon juice or apple cider vinegar might just do the trick. The combination of sour and bitter creates a more mellow, sweeter taste you might like better.
