Don’t take a holiday from fitness

It seems that the months of November and December whiz by and the holidays, while festive, wreak havoc on our normal routines. Making time for everything can be a challenge but experts say that is important to make sure you set an appointment with yourself every day for physical activity – even if it’s just a minimal amount.

Squeezing in a little activity is better than none, say experts. If you can’t find time to hit the gym, don’t skip exercising altogether. A quick workout is better than no workout. Try to incorporate even just 10 minutes of physical activity a day. High-intensity interval training is a great way to get in a quick and effective workout. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) describes a workout that alternates between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less-intense activity or short-term rest.
