 Treat headaches with magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral that is responsible for a large number of crucial bodily functions. These include nerve transmission and blood sugar control. Magnesium has also shown potential as a headache remedy proving to be both effective and safe throughout the tests

Studies have shown that many people who get migraines frequently have a magnesium deficiency. While correlation is not necessarily causation it’s definitely enough to justify further study on the topic. Researchers have concluded that treatment consisting of 600 mg of magnesium citrate administered orally once a day was effective in reducing the severity as well as the frequency of these migraines.

There are some potential side effects to taking magnesium supplements, specifically in the digestive side of things. That being the case, it’s important that you start with a smaller dose to treat your headache and slowly up the dosage if necessary.
