Homemade ‘healthy’ pizza in 30 minutes or less

Football gatherings and pizza seem to go hand in hand. This season, instead of loading up on carbs and fat, here’s a quick and easy way to get your pizza and squeeze more nutrition into every slice.
The ‘crust’ for this pizza is store-bought, whole-wheat pitta bread. They are usually about six inches around and come four to a pack. They are the perfect size for personal pizzas.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. If you are using a pizza stone place in oven while it is preheating. Lay out your pitas and ladle 1 tbsp of olive oil and 2 tbsp sauce on each pita, leaving room for crust. Top with mozzarella (1/4 cup cheese on each pizza) and vegetables. Cook pizza for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Top with fresh basil and enjoy.
