It is not an overstatement to say that everyone should do some stretching daily. Stretching keeps your muscles flexible, strong, and healthy. It is important to increase flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints or the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. But before you begin, learning what stretches are best for you are key. You can learn more about stretching and how to make it a part of your daily schedule in a free class offered by the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation. Participants will learn proper breathing and stretching techniques as well as a multitude of stretching exercises to help with mobility. Class led by Sergio Terrazas, Certified Strength & Conditioning Professional. Class is free. Please call 915-562-7660 to register. More info: https://www.facebook.com/events/127777451709293/
