Write a letter to your younger self

Journal entry prompts and therapists suggest writing a letter to your younger self as a way to help get an understanding of where you have been and how you have grown. In doing so, we inevitably address some of our mistakes, forgive some of our trespasses and close chapters that probably should have been closed long ago. Not only does writing a letter to yourself allow you to express thoughts in the third person, it helps to filter and evaluate the emotions associated with those memories. You can choose to write a letter to yourself at a very specific age or crossroad event, or simply to the younger you in general, whatever you decide, whatever you write, just remember one thing: be kind.
