Becoming an emotionally mature person takes effort, patience and an understanding of how to process and deal with your own emotional issues. It also comes from simply accepting people and situations as they are. That requires real, sometimes brutal, honesty with yourself and others. Emotionally mature people work to be committed to knowing, hearing and working within the truth no matter how hurtful or stressful that truth may be. Understanding the importance of truth, devoid of emotion, is a definite step to emotional maturity.
