Talk about your feelings

Talking about your feelings with a loved one can help you stay in good mental health and deal with times when you feel troubled. Yet it is not always easy to describe how you are feeling. Here are some tips:
Don’t feel like you have to reduce your emotional state to just one word. Examine all of the emotions you are feeling and then talk about them separately. By breaking down each emotion, you are better able to communicate your complete emotional state.
Having a talk about your emotions may seem like a big deal but it doesn’t have to be. You don’t need to sit your loved one down for a long dramatic talk. Many people feel more comfortable when these conversations develop naturally – maybe when you are doing something together. If it feels awkward at first, give it time. Make talking about your feelings something that you do regularly, and it will cultivate the type of relationships where others will feel free to talk about their emotions as well.
