Reading is Fun

Those of us of a certain age remember the ‘Reading is FUNdamental' campaign from our childhood. The non-profit initiative was developed to combat childhood illiteracy and encourage a life-long commitment to literature. Well, it worked. As of 2018, 74 percent of adults stated that they have read at least one book in the past year. But the news isn’t all great. It is also true that the Americans only spend an average of seven minutes a day reading.
In these days of media saturation, technological toxicity and immediate gratification, why not pick up a good, old fashioned book and spend a few hours this Sunday reading. After all, it’s Sunday-Funday. And reading is fun.
