Make today Thanksgiving

Make today Thanksgiving

Are you tired of binge watching your shows? Maybe the house has been cleaned enough. Maybe you are looking like the ‘before’ in a makeover segment of the Today Show. Forget all that, make today Thanksgiving.

There are volumes of self-help books that tell us that the key to a happier life is simple gratitude. When we were young, we were told to ‘count our blessings’ but somewhere along the line, we have forgotten how. Well, you do not have to wait for the last Thursday of November to express sincere gratitude to your loved ones.Make today Thanksgiving.

You can gather the people in your home for a meal. It could be roasted turkey but it can also be grilled cheese sandwiches. It does not matter what the meal is. What matters is that you are gathered around and each of you express the things that you are grateful for. If you are so inclined, say a prayer of grace before you dig in. And afterwards, you can put on a classic football game and pretend it’s the first time you’ve seen it. Have fun. Thank us later.
