June is National Cancer Survivor Month. There are more than 18 million people who have survived cancer in the United States alone, according to a study by The American Cancer Society (ACS). According to the National Cancer Institute, a person is considered a cancer survivor from the moment they receive a diagnosis and throughout their entire life. Anyone going through treatments, living through their diagnosis, or dealing with what comes after overcoming cancer is a survivor. Support the cancer survivors in your life this June.
Join the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation as they celebrate cancer survivors in the second annual, ‘Give Cancer the Boot’ event Saturday June 3 at 12:00 noon at Cielo Vista Mall where cancer survivors will perform a special line dance. Information: www.rgcf.org
