Avoid the winter blahs with Vitamin D

People who develop mild depression during the winter months may have insufficient levels of vitamin D. Research investigating this association suggests that daily intake of 4,000 IU of vitamin D may improve the depressive symptoms and general health. Taking an extra boost of vitamin D may help lift your spirits and get your body and mind back in balance. But it may not be a ‘cure all.’ Depression that persists can be serious and should be treated professionally.
