Parents' eating behavior influences children’s response to food

Un equipo dirigido por la profesora Jacqueline Blissett en la Facultad de Psicología y el Instituto Aston de Salud y Neurodesarrollo (IHN) de la Universidad de Aston, pidió a los padres que evaluaran su propio comportamiento alimentario y buscaran asociaciones entre esos comportamientos y los de sus hijos.
El equipo agrupó a los padres en cuatro estilos de alimentación: "alimentación típica", "alimentación ávida", "alimentación emocional" y "alimentación evitativa". Los comedores típicos, que constituyeron el 41.4% de la muestra, no tienen conductas extremas..
Los comedores ávidos (37.3 %) tienen rasgos de alta aproximación a la comida, como comer en respuesta a señales de comida en el entorno y sus emociones, en lugar de señales de hambre.
